Hi, From the earliest time, man has had an inherent curiosity regarding the appearance of the world around him!!! The first instance of this may be seen in the primitive drawings of the cave-dwellers,and statuary representing figures and objects, as well as written descriptions of the time various people lived. This was followed by drawings and paintings which accurately pictured their subjects. There was no way of taking an instant portrait of an event happening as it took place until the advent of Photography which gave true images of events almost immediately. From its start, photography has captured the world around us as it is, and recorded historical events as they occured. The camera has enabled the first moving images to be recorded, and with the advent of movies and video we have seen things that would have been impossible to view prior to their invention, even enabling us to see what other planets look like. Like Fire and the Wheel, photgraphy deserve to be ranked as one of the greatest creations of mankind.
