Considering that a diesel pickup truck can't use gas I would say that there aren't any diesel trucks that get good gas mileage. If you were wondering which diesel truck gets the highest miles per gallon then I would say you should look at the Dodge Cummins diesel.
Could be a valve problem in trans, or could be a sesnor malfunction in the trans. Have it looked at by a professional, it will save you a headache.
The best dually diesel pickup truck would be Chevy or GMC 3500 with Duramax and Allison transmission.
Diesel engines were not a factory option until the late 70s, so if you find a 60s pickup with a diesel, it has been switched after it left the factory. Installing a diesel engine in a 60s model Ford pickup would not be the easiest conversion, but it could be done. Motor mounts would probably have to be fabricated, and you would probably have to change out the transmission, also. Best to find an engine/transmission combination that has already been proven to work together. The other consideration is finding a diesel engine with the horsepower and torque necessary for the truck.
Most likely a 5.9 liter cummins turbo diesel 12v
Could be a bad throttle body
I kmow this sounds stupid most likely it is at least one cracked injector sleve. Stick your finger in the cooling system water when it is not hot bet it has diesel in it also it will smell of diesel.
The first things to check are the air intake, the fuel pump/filter and the governor.
if it is an old diesel engine.. nothing an old diesel engine runs on sunflower oil or whatever else. but if it is a new engine it wil stuck. (srry 4 my bad English i am dutch)
Most likely, a malfunctioning idle control sensor.
it would depend on whether you have a diesel car or a petrol car but i would say around half a tank if you stick to the speed limit
Pump is about 150 and I just charged 200 in labor on a customers 03 duramax pickup.
