Check the bulbs. You may have one installed incorrectly.

iT CAN BE WIRING OR BAD HEADLIGHT SWITCH.
A blown fuse or a damaged computer would cause the turn signals, interior lights, and door locks not to work in the Mazda 3. The fuses are located under the dash on the driver's side of the car.

I don't have an answer to the question but i would also like to know how to have daylite running lights on my 98 b3000.

If they were backing up, they would be going backwards... If they were braking, they wouldn't be going anywhere......
On my 1990 Mazda 121, the low beam (and sometimes high beam) lights fail due to a faulty light switch on the steering wheel console. I have to pull it apart and clean up the contacts about once every year when it does it. The tail lights also go out. I can tell it has failed again as the dashboard lighting goes out. Andrew.
You should consult the owner's manual, as this appears to be a fuse/electrical issue. You might also consider removing your foot from the brake pedal when driving at night. Happy braking!
