What force causes you to move forward when you walk on the floor?

Your feet are pushing backward against the floor, where friction prevents that backward motion and exerts an equal force that pushes you forward. If the floor were not fixed in place, it would move backward instead and you would stay in the same place. If friction did not exist, your foot would merely slide backward across the floor, and again you would stay in the same place.

Demonstrate in terms of force what the net force would be on the girl running on a train if she runs towards the front of the train and if she runs towards the back of the train?

If the train is going at a constant speed, it will make no difference whether she runs forward or backward. There will only be a difference if it is accelerating or slowing down. If it is accelerating you tend to be thrown backward, so it is easier to run back than forward. If it is braking you are thrown forward so it is easier to run forward than backward. The force on the body is the product of the acceleration or retardation and the mass of the body: F (Newtons) = mass (kg) x acceleration (meters/sec2)

Why bicycle dont move in backward direction when you padel backward?

There is a 'freewheel' in the rear hub of the bicycle. When you pedal forward, the freewheel has teeth that engage the hub which makes the wheel turn forward. The freewheel (hence its name) also lets the wheel turn freely forward. If it didn't, you would not be able to 'coast', but would have to keep pedaling all the time. This freewheel setup naturally results in your being able to pedal backwards without those teeth engaging anything.

What is backward integration in steel industry?

refers to vertical integration, that is, a company takes over certain stages upstream (Backward) or downstream(Forward) from its position in the supply chain. A steel manufacturing company that wants to integrate backwards would therefore buy the ore mine. refers to vertical integration, that is, a company takes over certain stages upstream (Backward) or downstream(Forward) from its position in the supply chain. Why let say if the forward reaction is exothermic does this mean that the backward reaction gives out or take in heat and why?

If the forward reaction is exothermic then the back reaction would be endothermic. This happens because it upholds the law of conservation of energy, which says that energy cannot be created or destroyed.

Why do you need friction to walk?

If there was no friction, your foot would simply slide back as you tried to take steps, and you would go nowhere. In order for something to move, it has to have a force moving it. That force has to have leverage, or friction. For the force pushing a person forward, there is an equal force pushing backward on the ground or floor. You can observe this by placing round pencils under a board, stand on it, and try to step off in the perpendicular direction : the board will roll backward as you step forward.

When the bus starts suddenly the passengers fall backward why?

I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Newtons laws on motion I and III explain this phenomenon. A passenger is at rest and is not moving. When the bus moves forward, it pushes the passengers forward, as they were not previously moving. The feeling would be that you were "falling backward" as the passenger was previously stationary. That stationary spot is now behind you as you move forward, so the force that is "felt" would be in that direction. This is the same (but opposite) feeling when moving at constant speed and then stopping suddenly. You are propelled forward as your body was in constant motion.
