Both window switch on the front door will lower the window, the problem is that both switch will not raise the window back up to its close position and also the master window switch on the Driver's side will not operate all the time nor will the master
door lock on the driver's side lock the passenger side door. On several ocasion the driver's side window switch lowered it's window and it would'nt raise the window back up unless after quite a few minutes playing with the window switch, opening the door, etc.
the motor and the switch both work but the window will not move
Your switch could be worn out you would have to replace the rocker to the switch or replace the whole window switch console.
Bad switch or motor on other window Check to see if you are getting power to it - if so bad motor - if not maybe bad switch or open in wiring circuit
i would first check to see if power window master switch is good usually if more than one window doesnt work, that's where the problem isfords also have a lock on the master switch for windows other than driver window. check that is not engaged
There is no single fuse for one power window. The most common thing is the switch to fail. This would be the master window switch. Try jumping the wires with a live current and see if the window goes up and down. If it does then its your switch, if the motor fails to move most likely its the motor/regulator.
If it is all both windows from both switches look to a fuse, if the window works from one switch and not the other I would suspect the switch. The switch seems to be a weak point on these vans.
The drivers side switch is the master switch; all power goes thru this switch. Pop it out and test for power; you may just have a bad connection at the switch. I would also check the window lock switch and bypass it to make sure that is not the problem.
The switch is burned out. Replace it.
Dirty switch contact. Repair or replace
The electrical connection at the non-working window may be bad. Try accessing the motor area of the bad window and push or wiggle the connection to make sure it is tight or test the circut with a test light to make sure it's getting power. The problem could also be the electrical connection at the switch or the switch itself could be bad. Test the switch connection for power.
I would replace the master window switch
If the passenger side works fine and there is no power at the driver side motor, I would suspect the switch. A weak motor will overheat the switch causing it to melt inside where the contacts are.
