You got the car used, correct? Depending on the BMW you have, there are certain services that have to be performed at either 5000-mile or 10,000-mile intervals. The light comes on before then to tell you to do them...and 69,000 miles is close to a 70,000-mile service.
Most definately. Tighten the cap and after a few driving cycles, the light will go off if that was the culprit.
Er....Get the engine serviced?
69,000 kilometers is equivalent to 42,900 miles
69,000 square miles is about 44,160,000 acres.
I believe so, like most Toyotas the "check engine" light will flash for about 30 seconds of starting the engine after 4500 miles since last service and will remain on constantly after 5000 miles.
A service engine light soon light on a BMW330i could have come on at 53,000 miles for a number of reasons. This service light comes on sometimes to tell the driver an oil change is due, the oxygen sensor is getting bad, or an air filter is plugged. There is also a possibility that a wire has broken on one of the sensors in the engine.

197000 miles does Possibly, and most likely, the oxygen sensor.
Buy the oxygen sensor and fix the car and get the light reset !
need more info, has the truck been sitting? did it run one day and not the next?
When the "service engine soon" light comes on inside your 2002 Ford Escort, it means that a sensor has told the engine that it is time for a scheduled service. This is generally timed at a certain number of miles or after a certain period of driving time.
My service engine soon light came on a day two ago, I have driven the car about 20 miles since it came on. Today, the light just went out. The vehicle is running good. What would cause the light to come on, and why would it just go out on its own?
