Why would the speedometer odometer and cruise control on a 1998 Honda Accord stop working and is it difficult to fix?

Sounds like the speed sensor on the transmision, or the conector on same. It could also be an under dash fuse. I am not familar with the accord but my civic speed sensor fuse is shared with about four other sensors and the voltage regulator. Hope that helps.

If the odometer stopped working and the speedometer and cruise control still work, you have a bad odometer. It is part of the speedometer assembly so the whole thing will have to be replaced.

The odometer on a 96 Ford Explorer is tied into the speedometer. If the speedometer is working then there is a gear problem inside of the speedometer causing the odometer to not work.

if your speedometer and or odometer isn't working correctly under your motor is a wire clip for you speedometer and odometer jus replace the clip

There is not an odometer cable. The odometer is driven by the speedometer. If the odometer is not working then you will have to replace the speedometer head.
