Insects tend to outnumber mammals by insane proportions, for instance a couple of ant colonies has more ants in it then there are people in the world.

If you found hawks field mice and corn in the same ecosystem what role would each be playing in a food chain?

Predator.

What would happen if all the hawks in the ecosystem were to die from an illness?

The populations of the animals that the hawks prey upon would increase until they would run out of food

Will a grasshopper eat a caterpillar?

Grasshoppers prefer to eat grasses, leaves and cereal crops, but many grasshoppers are omnivorous. They probably would eat berries if given them.

What might happen if the population of hawks in ecosystem grows very large?

there would be less nutrients for the plant.

What might happen if grasshoppers could not breed?

There would soon be no more grasshoppers.

What organisms live in the same ecosystem as the Snow Leopards?

Snow leopards live in the mountains where it would seem that nothing else lives, but actually many other organisms share this ecosystem with them. Some of the other creatures in this environment include mice, eagles, hawks, and rabbits.

Why is it important that numbers of animals and plants in an ecosystem remain stable make up an example to show your point?

It is important that the population size of animals and plants to remain stable so the food chain runs fluidly. If you had a major increase or decrease of a species then that would cause drastic change to the environment. For example: given the food chain of grass, a grasshopper, a frog, a snake and a hawk if the grass population went under then the grasshopper, frog, snake and hawks population would drop because the grasshopper would eat the grass and without grass than the population would decrease along with the other. But if the frog population decreased then the grasshopper population would increase from the lack of frogs but the grass would decrease from the overpopulating grasshoppers while the snakes would decrease with the hawks. After a while though, despite the drastic over- or underpopulation, the environment would find a way to get itself stable once more.

Would Hawks live in desert?

Hawks do live in the desert.

What would happen to grasshoppers if there was a drought?

Grasshoppers would lose their habitat and source of food. In cases of drought, greenery is destroyed. This would furthur expose the green grasshoppers on the brown land, and making it easier to prey on.

If a grasshooppere were white how would the white color affect its survival?

white grasshoppers would either be easy to see and get eaten up much quicker, or possibly they would be horribly scary looking and never get eaten again. they'd crash as a population, or, they'd overrun the ecosystem.

What would be the impact on the nitrogen cycle if there were decrease in decomposition in a given ecosystem?

The impact on the nitrogen cycle if there were a decrease in decomposition in a given ecosystem wouldn't be enough nitrogen to return the atmosphere. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert carbon dioxide into energy rich carbon compound.
