Almost all Red Eared Sliders are aggressive. It's normal. They are frightened and it shows in return as them being aggressive. Wouldn't you be a little scared and defensive of a hand came out of the sky and tried to pick you up?

∙ 11y agoSome turtles get very shy when introduced into a new home. The first time I picked my slider turtle up, it went completely in its shell, it was so scared. But not an hour later, it wanted out and it was crawling all over me. Give your turtle some time. But always remember to wash your hands thoroughly with anti bacterial soap after handling your turtle.
