Ok so first you need to put food or a treat in your hand and then put your hand in the cage. If the hamster is ready to be held it will come upi to you and will sniff you. If it crawls onto your hands and eats the treat start to pet it. If it scurries away try again later, but of not they slowly pick it up and put it in a bath tub or sink. Play with it until he will freely crawl into your hand.
i have a hamster and t opick it up you have to make your hands like a cup and scoop it up (most of the time i pick it up with my 2 fingers under the stomache and i put him in my arm and cradle him) or you can puy your hand around him hold him up with your hand and his head and hands should be popping out.
You should hold your hamster regulary because then the hamster you may have will become used to you and also fond of you this will make the hamster more happy and it will also be more fun to your hamster.
Cup one hand with the hamster on your palm, and put your other hand over it. The goal is to make the hamster feel secure but not squished. Hold your hamster in such a way that he/she is comfortable and that won't allow you to drop him/her. Another way is to hold your hamster with one hand against your body to make him or her feel safe.
I've got a hamster but havn't held her yet BECAUSE that method is known to be bad for beginners. what I've learnt is that my hamster, and probably others if they are new and scared, will bite when handled like that. I got bitten REAL bad yesterday cuz of using that method. I've been reading other web pages adn tehy say the best way is to put a mug in with a little bedding and let the hamster crawl in. when she's in pick up the mug and tip it GENTLEY onto your hand. I'm workign with my hamster the easiest way for beginners and that's to put your hand in the cage (washed and not smelling of food) then you put a little bit of wood shavings which your hamster has laid on (So it smells familiar) only a little so your hamster can see your hand and won't be started when you lift up the hand ever so gently. Don't go futher than 5cm from the ground of the cage the first few nights otherwise your hamster has the chance fo jumping off and jumping too far... This can kill them. By the way I don't mean to be rude earlier about that method, it just hasn't worked for me : ) x
you would not want a hampster because they look like a rat!
i got mine at petsmart but if you want a hamster to hold i would recomend you should get a bigger one
Julie is a Great name for a Hamster as I myself named a Hamster named Julie and she was an excellent hamster! In my opinion i would name the Hamster Julie.
WHY would you want to give a peppermint to a hamster???? Hamsters don't eat peppermints in the wild.
You can put a hamster in the ball as much as you want. The average time you want your hamster in there for exercise is about 15 minutes, but my hamster loves it so much that he goes in for 30. It all depends on the type of hamsters and how athletic they are! hope this helps
I would think it would depend on the hamster... although my friend's hamster has no particular aversion to cabbage; find a hamster and offer it some coleslaw.
Don't try it...Your hamster would drown.
I don't think You Can.. And What Would You Want To Do That For??
the real question is why would you want to!
Well you want it to be comfortable but not suffocate in its bed. I would say enough that would be good and comfortable for the hamster. Hope it helps
not without proper insulation. if you would want to keep the hamster in a garage you would have to provide something for it to get into when cold.
You can call it hamster if you want.
Please explain what you mean. If you are worried about how they would get along together the best advice would be to keep the hamster in a safe secure place where it would not be able to escape, and your dog would not be able to get to.

Ask yourself one key question: "Do I want a hamster?" If the answer is yes, then any hamster will do.
as many as they want! woahhooooooooooo!!!
only if they have the scent of another hamster on them or if she does not want them.
you really can't teach tricks to a hamster but if you can go to you tube and type hamster tricks
