Not really a scientific question... but here goes:

1 mole is 6.02214179*10^23

Lets assume each elephant weight 5 tons and the moon weighs 7.6*10^22 kilograms.

1 mole of elephants weighs: 5000 kg * 6.02214179*10^23 = 3.011070895*10^27 kilograms.

3.011070895*10^27 kg - 7.6*10^22 kg = 3.010994895*10^27 kg more.

To put this number in perspective:

3.011070895*10^27 kg / 7.6*10^22 kg = 39619

So 1 mole of elephants would weigh as much as 39619 moons

Anything, including an elephant, weighs less on the moon than it does on Earth ...

about 83% less.
The Moon has less mass and therefore would attract the mass of the elephant less than the the Earth's larger volume of mass

The mass of the Moon is 7.4 × 10²² kg

A large elephant weighs about 6,000kg

So the number of elephants which weigh the same as the Moon is:-

7.4 × 10²² kg / 6000 = 12,333,333,333,333,333,334 elephants.

The surface area of the Earth is 510,072,000 km² which gives 510,072,000,000,000 square meters.

So, if we put an elephant standing on it's leg in one square meter of Earth, we would need, 510,072,000,000,000 elephants.

Which means we have 12,332,823,261,333,333,334 spare Elephants.

Obviously this is not the case, so the Moon is heavier.

Hopefully my maths is correct. If not, can someone update it.

An object's weight is defined as the force with which gravity pulls down on it. Since the moon has less gravity, it would pull down on the elephant less, and therefore the elephant would weigh less on the moon. It's important to note that weight is a force (measured in newtons).

In contrast, the mass of the elephant (measured in kilograms) would be the same on the Earth and on the moon. The mass doesn't change. Loosely speaking, mass can be thought of as a measure of how much "stuff" the object has in it, and it also tells you how much inertia the object will have.

5000 lbs on earth would weigh about 833 lbs on the moon
