My 98 Lumina had the same issue. Found out that the Coolant opening that connects the engine block to the timing cover leaks! This is just behind the belt tensioner. Have to remove the timing cover and in my case, I used High-Temp gasket maker, because the machine surfaces were not flat causing this area to leak. I would suggest not to use a gasket, but instead use the High-Temp silicone! ~Steve
blown headgasket
you plunem is leaking and is not chep to fix
Transverse engine, so left is front to me. Intake manifold or headgasket are the first thoughts. With age of it, a softplug (freezeplug) may be rotted.
Leaking heater core
Coolant leaking into any cylinder is a clear indication that the head gasket has blown.
A pressurized coolant reservoir would have a thread on cap which acts as the " rad " cap
No, low coolant would cause the opposite.
Leaking heater core
There are hoses, gaskets amd water pump which cause leaking. Check it out where the coolant is comming from.. The speed sensor is probablu bad.
gasket wears out in time. leaking coolant is the result of a bad gasket not the cause of it.
I'm assuming your grand am has a 3400 v6 which are known for intake and head gaskets leaking. so its possible that one of those gaskets are leaking so bad that coolant is leaking from intake/heads down onto your valvetrain and then down into your oil pan. more than likely its your intake gaskets leaking.
I think you may be referring to coolant leaking from engine? engine coolant or water can leak from any coolant hose or heater hose, waterpump, thermostat housing etc, wurse case the head gasket is leaking coolant externally, need a pro to check it out
