Maybe he thinks you don't like his friends or he was doing something he doesnt want you to know about. And that isn't neccisarily something bad! He might have been planning a surprise for you. But if he is being too defensive about it, you have to ask him to be honest. If he's being defensive, he was probably doing something even he knows is wrong. Just tell him you're hurt for him being dishonest and you want an honest, trustworthy relationship.
