If you are living in the same apartment this could only mean that he doesn't want you to leave and he'll do anything to keep you in (not the chocolates and roses but the chains ) so he's possessive and would resort to violence to get his way so what you should do is get out of there while you still can and if things get any worse get a restraining order or somthing.
AnswerI assume that if you were on the inside, he was trying to keep you in, he may have a jealous streak. If you called him and told him you be over in 30 minutes and the chain is on the door maybe he is hiding something. You make the assessment.
