Well first off, you can't just sit around waiting for message . You ACCIDENTALLY send them a message that you would have sent to somebody else, like "Do you think I should go?" like the middle of a conversation or something. They probably will send you a message asking what you're talking about. You apologize and TRY to start a conversation.

You go to inbox, then create message. You can type whatever message you want and then press "ok". Or if your already in a message conversation press "reply". After you would press "ok". Then when it previews your message, press "Insert". Then picture, or video. It will then say "Existing Picture, or Take New picture" click on whatever one you would like!
Tell them, simply have a conversation with them, ask them if they would like to get together sometime, bring them something that you know that they would like....I dunno get creative to get their attention
fI would agree with face to face conversation being the way through which the sender has the highest degree of control over how a message is composed except for one thing. Body language often contradicts what is being said. For that reason alone, I would say that a letter or note wis better, because there is less chance of ambiguity.
