Do you get any "Beep codes" when the computer tries to go through the Power On Self Test (POST) when your first turn it on? A single, short beep indicates that the BIOS thinks everything is ok. Some other codes indicate that there are problems. If the computer is truly dead, (no POST beepcode and no text appears when you turn on the power) It could be anything from a bad power supply to a bad CPU or any of a number of other problems.
