i think your car is broken
A wire may be cut from the brakes. the turn signal wire is still connected
No brake lights but turn signals work? Turn signal switch brakes route through it.
You may have a bulb that that brunt a element which than crossed the other element cause all lights to come on a one time. I have seen this before. If this does not light all bulbs when the brakes are applied, then I would be looking in the front lights, if it does I would look in the back lights.
Check the switch at the brake pedal .
If you're referring to the exterior lights on your van, it's probably the turn signal switch. When I press the brakes, or turn on a turn signal, my rear lights look like a Christmas tree. The brake light wiring has to go through the turn signal switch because of the cruise control, which is why the brake lights are affected by the switch. Mine started with a problem on the right turn signal, and since has completely broken down. Front lights still work fine - it's the back ones that have the problem. When I press the brakes, both my dash indicators for the turn signals light up. I suggest getting a new turn signal combination switch on eBay, as they are around 350 at retail stores. It would help if you asked a detailed question or described symptoms instead of being so vague that changing the tire might be the correct answer.
The whole turn signal arm unit needs to be replaced
I would first check your brake light switch which is attached to your brake pedal under the dash. Since you can turn off the lights by pushing the pedal it is possible the switch is bad. They are around $10.00.I hope this helps you. Mark
Bad turn signal flasher.
Most likely turn signal flasher
Your Pontiac has a problem in the electronic block, which is controlling the turn signals, the tail and brake lights and etc. It shouldn't be a big deal.
It's probably your brake lights, not your brakes.
I would like to remove the fuse for my turn signal lights in my 2002 mercr mountieer. Where is the chart located? I misplaced the manual. Thanks, 2002redtruck
