It is important to know your ''blood type'' (as it is referred to) because if you need blood, your body will only accept the blood that is your ''blood type''

Another reason, is that if you ever have the need to ''give'' blood, you can only ''give'' blood to someone who has your ''blood type''.

It is advisable to carry around a card with blood type, in case of an emergency and you need blood. It will save time having the labs take your blood and test it while you might be dying.

Is it possible for AS blood group to produce AA?

No, it is not possible for an individual with the AS blood group to produce offspring with the AA blood group. The AS blood group indicates that the individual carries one A allele and one S allele (which is associated with sickle cell trait). For an offspring to have the AA blood group, both parents must provide an A allele, which cannot occur if one parent has an S allele.

Why are my twins blood group different to mine. My twins are Blood group A neg I am O rh pos How could this happen Also what are the origins of my sons blood?

The other parent must have type A or type AB blood. That combined with yours to give genotype AO, which gives your twins type A blood because O is recessive. Blood is made in the bone marrow. (someone else will have to help about rhesus factors, I don't know enough about them)

Can a man with blood group o positive be father to a baby with blood group o?

Yes, a man with blood group O positive can be the father of a baby with blood group O. Blood group O is inherited when a child receives an O allele from both parents, so the father must have at least one O allele to pass it on to the child.

If mother and father has AB blood what blood type will the child have?

Most likely, AB. But that doesn't mean it must just happen. The blood group of children is also affected by the blood group their grand parents had. So, if a kid's grand parents had different blood group and his parents had different, then, there are just chances of either of them.

No. The daughter will be either blood group A (with genotype AO) or blood group B (genotype BO). This is because she must inherit one of the alleles from her father, so either an A or a B.
