Your employer is paying you to do a job. Nobody, including employers, likes to feel like they are being ripped off or cheated out of money. If employees are using cell phones to call and text friends, check their facebook, or surf the web, their employer is essentially paying them to socialise. An employee socialising with friends does not benefit the employer and robs him of work he has paid the employee for.
