There are two reasons they would do that. 1) they did something while they were drunk that they don't want to tell you about or 2) they don't think you would approve but they don'y care enough about your opinion to change their actions so they hide them instead.
--> Sometimes they'll hide it from you because of the way you've acted in the past. Guys like to get drunk together and talk about guy things. If you've alwasy disapproved of the behavior and got really upset, he's really only trying to save himself from an argument.
