There are several possibilities.
1. Your daughter is not actually your child either.
2. Genetics is messy; some children look much more like one parent than the other. Your daughter and her "brother" (I assume half-brother) may just both happen to look like their mother.
3. Genentics is messy part 2: people who aren't related at all can in some cases look more alike than people who are full siblings.
