There could be several reasons why your electric windows don't work on your car.
Here are several things to check:
1. check the fuse panel...the passenger's foot well, behind the square plastic panel on the right side. The cover will have the map of the fuses to the windows.
2. check the window switch itself on the center console. The easiest thing to do is switch the switches, left to right and see what happens. If the broken window works now, it's that switch. I had to replace a couple of them in my '79 SL...don't bother trying to rebuild them, it doesn't work. You will have to remove the ashtray, the ashtray frame, then the two screws on the front of the center console. Carefully lift the center console straight up, and slightly pull it back. You'll be able to access the window switches by unplugging the wiring from the switch, then push the switch up. There are spring clips on both sides you'll have to compress with your fingers...the switch will slide out.
3. It could also be the electric motor inside the door. This is a pain since you have to remove the door panel, and then remove the motor.
4. One last item to check if all else fails is the ignition switch itself. Remember, this is an older car, with older electronic technology. These old ignition switches have about 10-12 wires going to them, and they control all sorts of things depending on the position of the key.
5. Check the wiring to the motor and to the switches...these are 30 year old cars and stuff happens...age.
1 of the 5 above mentioned should be the cause of your problem since there's nothing else that would affect the windows.
Good luck...
