it will but your engine will seize after a while
no... its the only vehicle in history to not use an oil pump. they all have oil pumps genius
To turn off the "Change Oil" lite turn on the ignition, pump the gas pedal to the floor four times, then start the vehicle.
what you want to do after the oil change is to get in the vehicle, turn the key on to accessory (don't start the vehicle). then with it in accessory mode, pump the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times. after that, start the vehicle. You should see something come up on the information screen about resetting the oil... or something like that.
The oil pump on a 92 Chevy S10 is changed by draining the oil, unbolting the oil pan, and lower it from the vehicle. The pump can then be unbolted and a new one put in place.
The oil pump on a 94 Honda Prelude is changed by draining the oil, unbolting the oil pan, and removing it from the vehicle. The oil pump can then be unbolted from the engine and a new one installed.
I have the same problem with the same vehicle, the oil pump is on the inside of the timing cover. good luck
You do not have to prime the pump. Just add the correct amount of oil and start the engine.
If it is an older vehicle with a mechanical fuel pump-- diaphram could be torn allowing gas to be pumped directly into engine
yes it will start but you dont want to start it.
If it doesn't have an oil pump, the engine will seize right after you start it. If this has a 3800 engine (I think it does) the oil pump is mounted to the inside of the front timing cover. The crankshaft passes through the oil pump directly driving the pump, so there's nothing that can break to prevent operation of the oil pump.
It is very simple to use an oil change pump. It is a system that sucks the oil out of your engine through the dipstick tube, it eliminates the need to drain the oil from the oil pan and you never have to get under your vehicle.
Turn on the ignition but don't start vehicle. Pump the accelerator 3 times. Turn the key to off. This should do it the next time you start the car.
