Ramble, hike, walk, cycle, motorcycle, climb, hill walk, absail, caravan and camp. You could fish for trout, salmon or coarse fish. Bird watch, travel to the top of Snowdon by railway. Look at old castles and just take in the scenery. Visit Beddgelert and see Gelert's grave. Take a trip to Port Maddog on a narrow gauge steam train. Visit a slate mine, have a meal or go for a drink...

Most of the mountains and hills are bare of trees, often either bare rock or a covering of grass over a layer of peat. The valleys are generally wooded but some are bare of trees, many having a river or stream flowing along the bottom of the valley, some are interspersed by lakes. Because the region is mountainous and in close proximity to the sea it has fair high levels of rainfall and is subject to rapid changes of weather.

Do sheep count? You might occasionally see a sparrow. One of my friends claimed to have seen a badger in around 1982.

Is mount snowdon the tallest mountain in Europe?

No. Not by a long shot. Snowdon is only 1085 metres (3,560 feet) above sea level, while Mt. Elbrus in southwestern Russia, in the Caucasus range, is 5642 metres (18,510 feet) above sea level, making it the highest mountain in Europe.Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales. But that isn't saying much, as all of Great Britain, as well as Ireland, is low-lying. Even the Scottish "Highlands" are only high in comparison to the Lowlands. But mountains in the UK are very low compared to the mountains of continental Europe.
