it is possible if you live in a hot climate. i dont understand why you would remove it completely? if you want it to run cooler then but a 180* or 160* thermostat and a get a tune for your fans to turn on earlier.
your car will over heat and you might blow your head gasket
Low coolant level, internal or external coolant leak or faulty thermostat.
if it has a plastic impeller inside water pump it may be broke or faulty thermostat .check by boiling in water till temp its suppose to open
why does my 2002 chevy cavalier over heat after i change the thermostat and the water pump
Yes
No heat in your car may be from your water pump going out and not feeding your heater core with enough water to produce heat. First remove your thermostat and see if your car stops over heating. If it doesnt, then you need to replace your water pump. Hopefully you havent cracked your heads. If your car doesnt over heat after removing the thermostat, but you still have no heat in the car. Then its your heater core that needs replacing. Always replace your thermostat whenever replacing the water pump.
first remove battery, remove air intake box, removewires, hose connections, nut holding heater lines coming from fill tank and remove. Remove 4 nuts holding heat shield on cross over exaust pipe , two bolts holding thermostat housing, remove and replace thermostat. after filling system be sure to open purge bolt and remove air from cooling system. not fun.
1.) Removeair cleaner cover & connections going to the throttle intake. 2.) Remove The heat shield off from the exhaust cross over pipe. 3.) Remove the nuts/bolts from the cross over pipe. 4.) pull the cross over pipe off. 5.) Drain radiator. 6.) Loosen & remove the top Radiator hose. 7.) Remove Thermostat hosing. 8.) Pull out the thermostat. 9.) To put it back together Using new parts Reverse the order.. back to step 1.)
If it's stuck open, no heat. If it's stuck closed, over heat.
it might have a sticking thermostat.
at the water pump remove the heat shield over the exhaust manifold and look down and you will see 2 bolts n the housing remove thease and replace the thrmosstat
thermostat or electric fan
