It depends on the period Xanax has been used and the dosages of the medication. A single 0.5mg dose of Xanax can be eliminated from the system during 5 days. But when Xanax is used in higher doses on the regular basis, it may show up in a urine test even after a month.

NO, NO! Valiums can show up for 2 weeks, not Xanax. If you only took one, there's a good chance it will not show up, because they have cut off levels that measure whether you're abusing a substance rather than just taking it as prescribed. I am a professional drug tester.
