It depends on the species or breed of hamster. Syrian hamsters are strictly solitary. They will fight if they live in a cage together. Dwarf hamsters usually are best kept in pairs, so rarely they will fight, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Two male hamsters will fight, no matter what breed they are. Male dwarf hamsters fight, but they are not as territorial. They won't KILL each other, just argue. Other male hamsters will try to kill each other if they aren't dwarfs.
Female dwarf hamsters agree with each other half of the time, but it doesn't guarantee that they won't fight.
You seperate them right away because you don't want the hamsters to get hurt or worse die.
Yes they do. The only exception is Syrian hamsters which must live alone.
Yes and if they do separate them and put thim in a aquarium or a mice/hamster cage so there will be no injuries or death
No, they tend to fight.
yes they do but it depends what they're personality is like
You shouldn't keep a dwarf in a cage.
No because if you put them in the same cage they will fight with each other. It is best if you keep one in each cage. Unless they are dwarf hamsters. Than you can put them in the same cage.
Definitely not - they will fight and possibly kill each other.
If they are Roborofskis or Winter Whites, then the answer is a definite yes. These dwarf hamsters are very social, and require the company of at least one of their own kind. However, do not put two different species of dwarf hamsters in the same cage. They will fight. Also, unless you intend to breed, only put hamsters of the same gender in one cage, or else you'll have a hamster population explosion! Also, do not put a Syrian with a dwarf hamster.
the male hamster will choose one female hamster and the left one will die
They fight for territory
Yes. Female hamsters, or girl hamsters, will also fight. They aren't any better with the fighting thing. Syrian hamsters of any gender will eat each other if put in one cage. Dwarf hamsters, on the other hand, can live with each other with a daily mini-quarrel.
Usually, if they are introduced to each other, you can put dwarf hamsters together. If the hamsters fight, they must be separated. Avoid separating ones that have been together for a long time (they might have symptoms similar to depression).Syrian hamster can't be put together. They are extremely territorial and will fight.
yes. all hamsters either fight or have babies together even if they were in the same litter!
A few years back I owned three Chinese Dwarf Hamsters, but there are different types of dwarf hamsters, e.g Russian Dwarf Hamsters. However, if you are thinking of getting dwarf hamsters, I don't recommend putting them in the same cage, as when I had my three, one of them ended up seriously injuring the other one.
