An 80 - 86 Full Sized Bronco can fit up to 33" tires without a lift, but if the rims have a lot of backspacing, they can rub on the radius arms. Anything over 33" will require a lift.
Larger tires WILL fit without a lift, but not without rubbing, or possible damage when going over large bumps or off-road.
87+ Broncos had sheet metal changes to the body design (such as smaller wheel wells) that limit them to 32" without a lift.
