Spoke to a Chrome expert, and the answer is Yes, it will. Supposedly the EasyOff contains a chemical (Caustic?) that will eat the chrome. This however does seem to be the #1 solution to getting melted plastic or rubber off the pipes...
Change your exhaust pipes.
Chrome polish supposedly works. But I found that warming the bike up, applying oven cleaner, and then CAREFULLY scraping with a razor flattened against the pipe works better with less effort. Be careful with the oven cleaner contacting your skin, however.

If its on your pipes or covers, start the engine, heat up the pipes and wipe it off. Then clean the area, once cooled, with a proprietory chrome cleaner. Anywhere else, apply a few drops of engine flush and leave overnight.
You do not have to rejet when using Slip-On pipes. I have an 1100 and an 650 for my wife and we have had Slip-On Cobra Pipes for a few years now.
You can try a product called Blue Coral Blue Buster, it's a polishing agent that seems to work pretty well. You could also look into Blue-Away most motorcycle shops should carry one of these or something similar.

There are many different types of exhaust pipes all with different reliabilities. The best type would be stainless steal exhaust pipes which do not rust and therefore last the longest. They are however the most expensive.
Due to the type of metal used in the production of the exhaust pipes, it is very normal for any motorcycle exhaust pipe to turn red when running, especially at an idle. When the bike is moving the air cools the pipe. That is why the street bikes have chrome covers, so you don't see the red/blue pipe.
