God will never put anything on your plate than you can handle. But, I feel that he will give you the same problem or situation over and over again till you learn the correct way to deal or handle it. Many things in your life are learning experiences and if you don't learn from it, you are subject to go through it again until you do. I try to learn from my mistakes and even more so the mistakes of others. That way I don't have to go through the hassles of that particular problem or situation. If your burdens seem to overwhelm you, try to list on a piece of paper what you did to resolve them. List the things you did right and what you could have done differently. Sometimes we have to look at things from a different perspective or a different point of view. Sometimes we make decisions to appease only us and not the lives of those around us and by doing so, we are sometimes doomed to repeat those actions again. When in doubt, pray for guidance and even ask for advice from the people in your life that you respect, as their words may lead you in the right path that you would normally not see. I have always told people that God will never give you more than you can bear and a few nice quotes, "I know not what the future holds, but I do know who holds the future" and "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
There is no specific scripture that says this. However, 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can handle, but will provide a way out. While we may face challenges and burdens in life, God promises to give us the strength and guidance we need to overcome them.
