God's Word lists His "punishments" and His "blessings" together... the one for disobedience to His Commandments... the other for obedience. They're listed in Leviticus 26 [and other places in The Bible].

It's presented to us as a "prophecy" -- which means that these things will "follow the generations of the children of Israel until Jesus Christ returns with the Kingdom of God... and His salvation."

"And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break My covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord." (Lev.26:44-45)

The descendants of those "Old Testament" generations, although they were "punished" and scattered among the nations of the world, ARE ALIVE, TODAY. The vast majority of them lost track of their ancestral roots, their identities, and think of themselves as Gentiles today.

They live in ignorance of who they are... of why life is such a mess... and the REASON for life's misery and suffering that is brought on by man's sins [disobedience to God's laws - I John 3:4]... and that it will continue on to the proverbial "bitter" end.

"And if ye shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor My Judgments, so that ye will NOT do all My Commandments, but that ye break My covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you TERROR, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

"And I will set My face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

"And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto Me, then I will PUNISH you seven times more for your sins.

"And I WILL BREAK THE PRIDE OF YOUR POWER..." (Lev.26:15-19).

God was offering to that generation of Abraham's children fresh out of Egyptian slavery, to make of them the greatest nation on the face of the earth, THEN -- if they would "obey His voice."

But they never did. They never obeyed... they were scattered among the nations... and they NEVER BECAME A POWERFULNATION; never became a nation whose "power" and the "pride thereof" which God had an opportunity to "break."

This portion of the "prophecy" is speaking to the end time generations of Abraham's children who emerged these last days in the world, receiving those promises of prosperity and "power" and greatness.

The latter day nations who once professed the laws of the God of Abraham [His name is Jesus Christ - John 1:3], whose tenets made them great and powerful in the world. Nations who fear other gods today... and who declare to the world that "they are no longer Christian nations."

It's THESE MODERN NATIONS of this prophecy who have had the "pride of their power broken!" And who have "TERROR APPOINTED OVER THEM!"

The nations of the world "despise" God's statutes, "abhor" His Judgments, and refuse to speak aloud His Commandments... for fear of offending the gods of other nations.

Therefore, God''s "punishments" are following them... and leading them into the prophesied "Great Tribulation," and the return of Jesus Christ, and the conclusion of God's plan.

If God never changes then why did he seem to punish people more in the Old Testament times than in the New Testament?

AnswerMalachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not;

Why did god punish the humans in the first testament if he made us with free will?

Because the Bible was written by men, so it isn't God's words it is a way that the church (es) can make us slaves if we don't do what the Bible says. Why do you think that God changed so much in the new testament? OR Do you think that God, that is invisible and has never showed up to men is going to have a pencil (or whatever) and write the Bible?? No, I think that the answer to your question is that God didn't punish humans, he is not human, he cannot feel anger or mad!!! THE BIBLE IS MADE BY HUMANS, that's my personal opinion.

Will the all-understanding God punish liberals?

God knows.

What is God's punishment for you when you hurt love ones?

God does not need or seek to "punish" us. Human guilt when we hurt someone is enough self-inflicted punishment! Instead of punishing, God has mercy and compassion, even when we "sin". Remember, The Old Testament is a story of a wrathful, revengeful God. But The New Testament is the story of God the Father's unending love, a love so strong that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to show us the way to God's mercy and forgiveness.

Can you say that God of the Bible is good and Demiurge is the bad God?

This is not an entirely accurate statement of the Gnostic Christian belief about the nature of God. They could not believe that the harsh and unjust God of the Old Testament was the same as the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament, so they believed there must be two gods. The God of the Old Testament became the Demiurge, while the supreme God is the God of the New Testament. Thus, God of the New Testament is good and the Demiurge, the God of the Old Testament, is the bad God.

What is the difference between the sound of God in the old testament and the sons of God in the New Testament?

The difference of the sons of god , in the two testaments are that in the old testament Jesus is the son of god. But in the New Testament we to can be the sons of god . If only we do believe that Jesus died for our sins.

What is the meaning of rebuke in this sentence May God rebuke him?

God punish him.

Why do the Gnostics considers the god of the Bible as evil?

Many Gnostics saw the God of the Old Testament as an angry and capricious god, who demanded sacrifices, encouraged genocide and was vain, in that he demanded constant worship. They could not imagine that the God of the Old Testament could be the same god as the loving god of the New Testament. Because they could not see the Old Testament God and the New Testament God to be the same, they decided that the Old Testament God was a lesser god, who was not even aware of the New Testament God in the higher heavens. Thus, he believed himself to be the only God and the Lord of creation, but there was (in Gnostic view) a higher God. To many, it was not so much that the Old Testament God was evil, it was that he was wholly ignorant.
