Mount Surtsey is not extinct. In fact, it is not even dormant. A volcano is classified as "dormant" after 200 years of inactivity. Surstey erupted in 1963, and that was less than 200 years ago.

Yes. The last eruption at Surtsey occurred in 1967. Since then, the island has been undergoing erosion, but there is enough hard rock that the island is likely to be around for at least 100 years, even without renewed lava flows.

yes mount surtsey can erupt again, according to scientists this volcano will erupt again in the future , scientists predict 98% this eruption will be allot worse creating lots of Disasters with weather .
