Mfg Date Springfield Model 39AI purchased my Springfield Model 39A 410 Bolt Action from "Western Auto" in 1943-45 holds 2.5 & 3 inch shells 6 shot with a plug to restrict it to 2 shells plus one in the chamber. I have been told by gun dealers the 39A is the MFG date is April in 1939
The Springfield 20 gauge model 94-B is valued at between $75 and $100. It has a 32 inch barrel, and a 2 3/4 inch chamber.
If you can, it would be the newest model 311-H, and it would be stamped as such on the barrels. All the older 311 models were 2 3/4" only.
You can fire 2 and 3/4 inch shells in a shotgun chambered for 3 inch shells. There is no 3 and 3/4 inch shell made.
sure - clean it afterward
The Springfield Model 67 H 12 Ga is a 12 gauge, 3 inch chamber piston. The H on the gun model, stands for handgun.?æ
The Springfield rifled Musket, Model 1855 had a caliber of 0.58-inch and was a single shot, muzzle-loading weapon.
What is marked on the shotgun? Unless it is marked for 3 inch shells, DO NOT attempt to fire them. 3 inch shells WILL chamber in most 2 3/4 chambers, but they are UNSAFE to fire- there must be room for the folded end of the shell to open. Using longer shells causes the shell to open inside of the bore, resulting in much higher and unsafe pressures. The 3 inch magnum shotguns began production in the late 1950s- I believe yours is a much earlier model. You should check with Browning- see link below. Shoot safe.
At most about $35.00 if it is in good condition
NO. 3 1/2 shells are fairly new and only to be shot through rifles rated for it. If it doesn't say it on the barrel, DON'T DO IT!
No. The 2 3/4 means Two and Three Quarters Inch shells (or shorter).
