It depends on the manufacture date of the 1998 Transmission. Ford changed the transmissions midyear. I can tell you for sure that the 1998 transmissions made after Jan 1,1998 will fit all the 1999 Windstars.. The exact date of change is in either September, October or November. Somewhere around the 11th of the month. A really helpful wrecking yard can tell you the exact date.
so far i have removed the both axels and the wiper's assembly and air intake, tires.brakes
If they are both V6, then yes. '97-'99 all the same.
Both the 3.0 liter and 3.8 liter V6 engines offered in a 1999 Ford Windstar have ( 6 engine cylinders )
I was looking at the 2002 Ford Windstar 0wners Manual ( and the Ford parts website ) and they both show it as being the ( 4 F 50 N ) transaxle ( transmission )
'98 - '00 should be the same transmission, so yes.(Provided the wheel size is the same for both vehicles, and the letter codes match [i.e. AX4N or AX0D])
No they won't fix. I have the exact years myself. engine is different.
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : Both the 3.0 and 3.8 liter V6 engines are Over Head Valve / pushrod design engines and each have ( 1 ) timing CHAIN
According to the 1998 Ford Windstar Owner Guide : With engine oil filter change : ( 4.5 quarts of engine oil ) for both the 3.0 liter and the 3.8 liter engines
Yes, they both use the 4L60E transmission.
NO it will not.
According to the 1998 Ford Windstar Owner Guide ( 5W-30 ) With engine oil filter change : Both the 3.0 and 3.8 liter V6 engines take : ( 4.5 U.S. quarts of 5W-30 )
Yes it will. Make sure they are both 4x4 or both non-4x4. The transmission bell housings are different for 4x4 because the transfer case is mounted directly to the transmission.
