I wouldn't recommend it. You have sensors that hook up to your cats which will trip your check engine lights and throw off your vehicles computer. It's not a good idea on newer model vehicles because of the computers, emissions, and you need that back pressure to ensure that your exhaust is performing correctly.
It will run, but the check engine light will be on, the engine will be under powered, and it is highly illegal.
A catalytic converter on a 2001 Chevy Venture van is located under the vehicle. Follow the exhaust pipe from the engine to the rear of the vehicle. The large object connected to the exhaust pipes between the engine, and the muffler at the rear, is your catalytic converter.
