Sure it will work but the question is will it change your vehicle in a positive manner. The answer to that is no. The correct size tire for your car is 245/50-18. If you install a 245/40-18 tire your speedometer will be off by at least 5 mph. Your car will also use more fuel, and ride and handle differently, and not in a positive way. So why would you want to use the wrong size tire?
No
Can I put a set of 245/40/18 tires on a Buick Lucerne CXS? It has 245/50/18 on it now.

Basically no. The TPM info is programmed into a computer of the car if it has it from the factory. The only possible way is to have the dealer reprogram that computer to change it to a car that does not have TPM. TechJK ------------------------------------------
