No. Ford Rangers may have a variety of manufacturers parts in one engine. For example, my Ranger has a Mitsubishi motor with a Mazda transmission.
engine will fit but you may have to change computer
Yes , according to the Gates and Dayco websites ( They make timing belts ) the 2.3 liter four cylinder used in the 1995 Ford Ranger is NOT AN INTERFERENCE engine
i have a 1992 ford escort lx 1.9l. will a 1995 ford escort engine fit. and what would have to replace.
it should fit as they both have the same engine but is it manual or automatic
As long as it is the same engine, you also have to swap some other parts out such as the clutch petal.
The main compatible engine with a 1999 Ford Ranger would be a 4.0L Ford V6. A V8 engine would fit well as well, but uses a lot of gasoline when driving.
That engine will also fit the Ford Ranger pickup.
I believe if you research the issue you will find that the Mercury Villager is actually a Nissan Quest and I doubt that the engine will fit the Ford Ranger. Good Luck!

nope ford changed bolt paterns in 1997
I'm not a mechanic / technician , but I believe the answer is ( No ) From what I have read , the 4.0 liter OHV , Ford V6 engine had ( 3 ) engine blocks ( 1990 to 1994 ) ( 1995 and 1996 ) ( 1997 to 2000 ) There were different amounts of bolt holes in the outside of the engine blocks for the accessories etcetera
