Yes it will. nice and simple answer.

its on the filter side of the throttlebody. Its a small right angled sensor.
yes, but the carrier will need grinding on one of the corners. may also be better off with new lines as well.
If one requires parts for the Peugeot 306 GtiI6 they are not widely available in North America. One can find parts available on the eBay site or on UK sites such as Gumtree.
One may find information on the Peugeot GT16 vehicle from either the Peugeot website, or from a Peugeot dealer's real world store. It is also possible to find further information at driver information websites such as Parkers, as they have car evaluations and also include comments from owners of these vehicles.
Remove the throttle butterfly unit and thoroughly clean with carboretter cleaner or WD40 in a round butterfly seatings, as build up of residue will not allow the throttle butterfly to close, hence sending false readings. I had the same problem on my ZX 16v. it was just the small vac hose on the inlet manifold to the ecu. It had a split in it. Try that.
when you look at the engine block. on the right hand side you will see a green connector going into the engine block. that's the sensor. when faulty it will throw up a warning display saying engine coolant temp to high stop. change the sensor. i paid 12 quid. DIY. make sure engine is cold, take off lead and unscrew sensor, make sure cooland bottle lid is tight. a little bit of water will come out but will stop.replace new sensore and make sure you use the washer previded. job done.
Yes - I've replaced the 1.9 8v engine in my 1989 205 GTi 1.9 with the 16v engine from the 405 Mi16. Only minor mech mods are needed with no welding or structural work. It goes like stink (c.165 hp goes well in a 950kg car!), has a better fuel injection system (Motronic as opposed to Jetronic) so is smoother and mreo fuel efficient. I'm also aware of people putting the 405 SRi 1.9 8v into a 205, also the 2.0 16v from the later Mi16. Other popular engine swaps include the 2.0 8v turbo from the Citroen XM and the 16v engines from the 306 s16 and GTI6. These are all XU series engines, not sure about the TU engined 205s. The XU-based diesel engines are all fairly interchangable too. The forum at www.205gtidrivers.com will give you all this info and more (including one guy with Mi16 engines in the front AND the back) maturin23
