yes it should i hear this all the time with guys hooking windsors up to a tranny that's set up for a modified so i would say yes all the blocks are typically the same

Only if you swap out the transmission also. The 302 uses the small block bellhousing and the 400M uses the 351M, 400M 429, 460 bellhousing. Hope this helps..
