YES they are the same.
NO. The 97 and 96 transmission bellhousing are different then any other years. You must put a 96 or 97 4L60E transmission back in it.
The 96 and 97 4L60E transmission are THE ONLY 2 YEARS THAT WILL FIT
NO, Not even close. There are ONLY 2 years that will WORK in that 97 and they are 96-97. You MUST get a 96 or 97 4L60E V-8 truck transmission and put it in your Tahoe. V-6 transmission won't fit your block.
no it wont, because the 97 is a 700r 4l160e and the 99 is a 4l60e, the 97 is a one piece transmission and the 99 is a two piece transmission, on the 99 the bell housing can be removed and the 97 is a one piece.
GM says no. it only interchanges with the 97
Yes it's the samething.
No it will not. The 96 and 97 transmission bellhousings are different.
No it will not it is all together different. You MUST use a 97 model 4L60E transmission.
Yes, 96-7 are interchangable.
If your truck is a 1/2 ton then you need a 96 or 97 4L60E transmission. If it is a 3/4 ton then you need a 96 or 97 4L80E transmission. These are the ONLY 2 years that will work in you 97 model. You also need to tell them if it is a 4-wheel drive are not. Tell them the engine size too. That should take care of it.
Yes
NO. That 97 Tahoe MUST HAVE a 96 or 97 4L60E transmission PUT back in it. That is the only transmission and only 2 years that will work because of the bell houseing design and computer system on the truck.
