No, but I think you've got a few terms confused.

DDR2 "slots" are for the main system memory. A "DDR3 graphic card' is a graphic card that uses DDR3 memory.

A PCI-E DDR3 Graphics card should work fine in a PCI-E slot, or a AGP DDR3 Graphics card should work fine in a AGP slot (4x or 8x, dont try to use a 4x or above AGP card in an older x1 or x2 slot).

Well, lets see, many people say that ddr2 in graphics cards is indepenant from the main system memory and that it will work, i believe they're wrong. My system uses ddr ram PC 2700/3200 and has a agp 8x graphics card but when i inserted a ddr2 512mb graphics card agp, i loaded but after installing the manufacturers drivers, my system wouldn't boot up properly. So i don't believe they're compatible. best stick to ddr graphic cards, they work ok

In my experience it doesn't matter a bit, i have a Dell 4600 which has a DDR motherboard and I am running a DDR2 Graphics card through my agp slot. It is also an 8X Graphics Card. The card information is as follows: ATI Radeon - Sapphire (i think there a sub company who produce graphics cards for ATI) Its a Radeon HD3650 512MB DDR2 Memory. It has VGA output, DVI-I Output, TV out with s-video connector (included), HDTV Display Support but requires a cable. It is a brilliant graphics for the below 80 euro price range and plays all the latest titles in amazing quality. Well recommended card for anyone with a low to medium budget. And for best results i would recommend at least 2GB ram.

YES. The type of memory on a graphics card has absolutely nothing to do with the type of memory being used by the CPU/motherboard. The only concern in compatibility is the type of expansion bus slot that the motherboard supports, and the type needed by the graphics card.

Will A video card whit DDR3 work whit A DDR2 motherboard?

GPU memory is independent of the motherboard that runs its own memory. You can have only one type of memory on a motherboard, ie. DDR3, and have a graphics card with built in DDR5 memory. Short answer is yes, they are independent of each other.

Will a video card with DDR3 memory work with DDR2 desktop memory on DDR2 motherboard?

well ofciurse it will lol

Is DDR3 graphics card works with DDR2 mobo?

Short answer: yes it will work. The DDR3 memory on the graphics card is mounted in the GPU's PCB. Power regulation and clock signals for that memory is regulated by the GPU.The DDR2 memory on the motherboard is a completely separate situation with the voltage and clock signal being regulated on the motherboard. The two memory banks have little, if anything to do with each other.A PCIe GPU will work in any PCIe motherboard slot.

Will a DDR5 graphics card work with a DDR3 ram?

Yes. i use a graphics card with gddr3 while i have ddr2 myself. also, ddr3 is the latest for computers and the new videocards have gddr5.

Can you use ddr3 memory with ddr2 chipset?

Unfortunately, no. DDR RAM will not work in a DDR2 motherboard, and DDR2 RAM will not work on a DDR3 motherboard. There are a few motherboards that have slots for both DDR and DDR2, so it is conceivable that there could be motherboards with slots for both DDR2 and DDR3.

I use DDR memory on my Asus Motherboard and i want to upgrade the graphics card does it have to be DDR too or can i use any AGP graphics card with my motherboard?

You can use AGP graphics card with any type of memory DDR. DDR2, DDR3. Graphics card memory type does not have any relation with memory type used on your PC's motherboard. - Neeraj Sharma I believe this answer is incorrect. I have found that some motherboards have onboard graphics which are connected to the pci slots. This creates a connection with a PCI graphics card, and the differences in RAM type will indeed cause problems for the driver and the OS. Bill Newman

Will GDDR3 graphic card run on DDR3 matherboard?

GDDR3 is referring to the type of VRAM the graphics card has. If the graphics card is a pci-express one, then it can be installed into the motherboard if it has a pci-express slot available. DDR3 is referring to the type of Memory/RAM

What is ddr2 vs ddr3?

DDR2 and DDR3 are different types of RAM. Interested that you posted in graphics cards as well. Heres why: For system memory, RAM that you can buy and replace on your motherboard, there isn't any performance difference. ddr3 is NOT faster at all significantly. Its a different type, you simply need to get the same type for compatibility. On laptops, ddr3 gives better battery life but not very significantly. For graphics cards, this is called vRAM and the types are usually called gddr2 and gddr3. In this case, gddr3 is MUCH faster. A single model of card will be produced in both types, which is confusing, and for example an 8600 gddr3 is probably faster than a 9600 gddr2.

Can you install ddr3 ram in place of ddr1?

No, you can't. First check your type, Is it DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 or maybe something else. When you know your type, in your case DDR1, you have to check the speed. DDR1 has 333 or 400, DDR2 has 553,667,800 or 1066, DDR3 has 1066,1333,1600,1800,1866,2000,2133,2200 or 2300 and even higher. In your case 333 or 400 speed. So you can replace your DDR1 depends on your speed for a 512GB, 1GB or 2GB RAM. But you have to check what is max. to place! And you can place DDR3 if you want, but then you have to change motherboard. And in that case better to buy a new computer. Sorry for my english :)
