I just talked to an HR person for our state government, and asked her that exact question. She replied that there are some positions that a DUI will disqualify you from, but most positions it will be a considered factor if there are many applicants, but by no means a deal killer. She says she sees those on applications all the time. Now if there are two or more, that might be a different story.
