You'll need to look at upgrading the rest of the drivetrain and probably juice the brakes to aid stopping, but it is definitely possible.
Early model would probably be 1928 thru 1931 Ford for a direct bolt in.

From what i have found on my 1929 model A the chassis number is located top of the chassis rail under the cowl on the left hand side. On the 1929 there is a removable inspection plate on the floor frame just behind the brace that comes down from the firewall. The 1928 does not have this inspection plate, i have been told that some 1928 have no chassis number.
