No an airbag will not deploy if the battery is disconnected
The only time I know of is when the car is out in a large open field surrounded by trees and grass and the battery is disconnected ensuring that the Airbag will NOT go off. That airbag can go off at anytime. That would be the equivalent of lifting your child up 15 feet into the air and dropping them on their face. It's not very good for the child.
Disconnect battery, go for coffee or have a cigarette or some other acceptable activity for 5 minutes. Check to see if the battery is disconnected! (if the air bag goes off it could kill you so this is important!) There are screws on the back of the steering wheel that may be a little difficult to get to but turning the wheel will do it.
The alarm of a 2004 Honda Accord will go off when the battery is disconnected because it is part of the anti-theft systems programing. When the battery is reconnected the alarm automatically arms itself.
You have to be going at least 12 mph for the airbag to go off.
Try resetting it sometimes the light comes on if dead battery or disconnected a fuse or a problem in air bag sys go towww.vehix411.com and watch a free video instructions on how to reset it without a computer.
Maybe. The engine computer is the voltage regulator, with the battery disconnected it may not be able to control the alternator output voltage correctly. This could cause it to go low or high.Maybe. Well first of all you need to disconnect the airbag and make sure that is not able to go off. Then make sure all of the wires are disconnected from the whole dashboard and then also look for any screws that may be hidden or anything that looks like it would hinder the dashboard from coming off easily.
Get the airbag fixed. Seriously, having a faulty airbag is really dangerous. It could either go off at a very inopportune time (like when you're getting in or out of the car, starting the engine) or not go off at all in a wreck.
Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove glove box and pull the connector off the side of the airbag.. Done.. Also for a car seat unplug connector under seat.. "big red thing".... Put power back on and all ready to go...
Go to auto zone and have the codes read for free. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY I disconnected the battery and the light did not reset On my '95 maxima I have to leave the battery disconnected for ~24 hours to reset the engine lignt. On my 1987 Maxima there is a button to push to reset the light. It is located underneath the passenger kick panel. On my 1999 Maxima I had to disconnect the battery for 24 hours : Go to autozone and have them clear it, easiest way, go to yoru local mechanic, he should have a obd scan tool, pay to have him remove it.
Go down to your local auto parts store and pick up a good manual for that car. You'll need a special tool to remove the bolts that hold the air bag on the wheel. Make positive that you disconnect the battery first. Not disconnecting the battery could result in the new airbag going off in your face, and a trip to the ER. When you re-connect the battery be sure that nobody is sitting in front of the new airbag. It shouldn't go off as long as the sensors are not damaged. There are methods to check if the airbag will deploy. I say try google.com for looking up airbag replacement.
alot of times the computer needs to be reset (or codes cleared)...try this, disconnect the battery leave it off 10 minutes reconnect and see if this cleared it.......if not, do same thing, but when reconnected turn motor on and off, about five times.......should reset if not will have to go to shop and have codes cleared..........if a shop disconnected battery for other repairs they should (if this doesn't fix for you) clear the codes for you.........
