based on dates of your last period and how far along the doctor things you are, the blood test will show something is wrong if you have an ectopic pregnancy. it will have a lower Hcg count.
I had an ectopic pregnancy and the doctor told me AFTER my tube ruptured 2 weeks after having blood test that my Hcg levels were kinda low for me being " 5 weeks"( at time of blood draw)
Thinking back, when i first got pregnant i felt a really bad pain on my right side, that was the baby implanting in my tube instead of uterus. if you felt that something like that on either side, then perhaps it could be ectopic. if it hurts to make love in certain positions, then it could be ectopic. If you expierence any spotting and REALLY bad cramping, it could be a regular miscaraige or the tube ruptured. I went thru all of these things
Hopefully you wont have to go thru what i have, but a blood test is a good way to see that something isn't right. And hopefully you don't have an idiot doctor either. If you do have an ectopic pregnancy, the dr can give you a certain chemotherapy drug to abort the baby and try to save your tube( my retard dr told me this also AFTER my tube ruptured) you can bleed to death if it does pop. i was very close to having to need a blood transfusion, i lost 3 donation bags worth of blood before i got surgery.
Yes, it can. It is still a pregnancy, and does increase HCG levels
Meaning "negative pregnancy test" with ectopic pregnancy: Any test can fail, urine test, blood simple test, and quantitative HGC test. Also the timing of the test versus the diagnosis by image (ultrasound). Ectopic pregnancy is only diagonsed with image, ultrasound, CT, MR.
if you go here it tells you all about ectopic pregnancy's http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/will-i-still-get-a-positive-pregnancy-test-if-im-having-an-ectopic-pregnancy/
I had an ectopic (tubular) pregnancy, and my home pregnancy test was positive by 5 weeks. I would go to your obgyn and get a blood test. They can check hormone levels to see if you are pregnant, how far along you may be, and if they feel it may be ectopic. Good Luck!
Most pregnancy tests test for the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in the woman's blood or urine. Ectopic pregnancies are usually picked up by home pregnancy tests however it is possible that do to lower levels of hCG that sometimes result from ectopic pregnancies you could get a false negative. Ectopic pregancies can potentially become very dangeros, if you suspect that you may have an ectopic pregnancy even if a home pregnancy test is negative, it would be wise to see a physician. If it was an ectopic pregnancy, you would still show positive on a pregnancy test. Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms? I would not consider pregnancy unless you feel you may be pregnant from some other sign.
No, it doesn't show up in just any blood test.
Of course you can doesnt change that
an ectopic pregnancy has the same symptoms and signs as a regular pregnancy and you still develop the hormones you would with a normal pregnancy. The human chorionic gonadotropin levels are what cause the pregnancy test to read positive. All pregnancies have hcg levels that should be doubling every other day in early gestation.. an ectopic pregnancy may test negative if taken too early, or too late because the body will eventually,(around 6-11 weeks) begin to try to expel the pregnancy when hormone levels begin to drop when the fetus is no longer viable and must be removed Hope it helps!
Yes, it will.I don't know who wrote that it will.... ^". Ectopic pregnancies don't always register on http://wiki.answers.com/0_home-pregnancy-tests_2029.bc, so if you suspect there's a problem, don't wait for a positive pregnancy test to contact your caregiver."source: babycenter.comyou could have an ectopic pregnancy and the test won't pick it up because your hormones aren't rising like they should so the at home test wont pick anything up..(I don't understand why people put answers when they don't know everything. I'm not a doctor or anything, but you can find out true facts on real credited resources... so at least research something before you go and write your opinion.)
yes hun
It may be an ectopic pregnancy
You need to go to your Doctor right away and let them do a pregnancy test through blood work. The pregnancy blood test can pick up your hormone level at a much earlier stage than a home urine test can. If you are in fact pregnant and it is ectopic, the earlier that is determined, the better for your health's sake.
