Will a engine from a 2002 2.2 engine cavalier fit into a 1999 cavalier 2.2 engine?
Yes, it should. Both these years were made with the Vtec engines. (They are identical). It was the 2003 and up that were made with the EcoTech I believe.
Will a 1994 2.2L Chevrolet cavalier engine fit a 1996 cavalier with 1996 if so what will i need to do to make this work?
the 2.2 engine has been the same in cavaliers since the 80's. so yes the engine should be a perfect fit. there may be a few minor cosmetic differences like the intake hose or something like that. but the engine itself is the same. The engine mounts are slightly different as well but fabricating replacements shouldn't be that difficult.
Yes, it will, but you would have to take the following parts off of your 1999 engine and install them on your 2002 engine first: Flywheel, left cam sprocket, intake, engine harness, plenum, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, alternator, temp sensor, and EGR valve/piping. Check out dodgeintrepid.net for tons of info on these cars.
