Yes... You need to get uppers (either soft of hard) that work with a 2004...
No you will have to buy the hard top conversion for your doors. The soft top style will not work with a hard top. Wiofe had the same year as you but had hard top doors. You my be able to find them in a junk yard though. Good luck
Yes, but back then they both needed to be hard tops, the steel doors won't work with a soft top like they do on a TJ
A AC system does not have to work as hard if doors are closed unless someone is going in or out. If doors are left open heat can get into the house.

Yes, the compression fittings designed for copper work on both soft and hard copper pipes.
sanding has a soft backing it tends not to cut work material grinding has a hard backing it cuts or machines material
It depends on the forces that would be applied on to the workpiece, a soft grinding wheel has more wear, and hence would not be affected much by hard materials. If we tried to use a hard grinding wheel, there would be large forces and hence a large wear on the wheel.
Yes. As in "we work hard." Although "soft" has the adverb form "softly," the adverbs "hardly" and "barely" usually do not mean in a hard manner or a bare manner.
