∙ 14y agoDoes your Firebird have a Chevy or Pontiac motor in it?
If it is a Pontiac motor, you will need an adapter from Summit or Jeg's.
Also, it could be a different output shaft length and spline count.

It is listed in the 1991 Pontiac Firebird Operations Manual
manual trannys dont have fill plugs, most trannys dont have fluid of any kind
The Electrical diagram for the 1979 Pontiac firebird instrument panel is found in the maintenance manual. The fuse box diagram is found in the owners manual.
I believe if both have a manual T5 transmission it will.
If it is automatic transmission you can use any brand of tranny fluid as long as it is AF fluid. If it is a manual transmission then use dot 3 brake fluid unless you can find clutch fluid, both work the same.
