Take out the three screws on the plastic cover on top. It's the black thing on top. When you have it off you will see the plug. Take off the boot and the plug screws out.

I have 2 poulan chainsaws and both have the same problem you take out the spark plug and you can crank them if you put the plug back in you can't crank them What is the problem?
Check for plugged exhaust ports, if the compression can't get out you won"t be able to spin it oner without removing the plug.

Poulan has a diaphragm that goes bad in the carb. It's not expensive to fix it yourself if you do things like that. Take it in and it's $50.00. Plug foul out often too and simulate a fuel problem. Good luck!
