Hens as in Chickens/Chooks will always have a "pecking order" that is where the expression comes from. It is not uncommon for a chook to be "henpecked to death". They do not however fight as do the Cockrels/Roosters until the weaker one either runs away and escapes or it is killed.
If one has a birth defect or is too sickly, the hen will not care for it, putting all of her attention to the healthier chicks.
That said, a mother hen MAY in fact attack her chicks. Chickens can be vicious to one another, and chicks are not immune to this. Keep a close eye on them!
It's most likely no. 99.9% they won't. It could be possible they would, but most likely no.
I introduced lots of new hens to my flock and the new hens were fine!:)
No, chickens do not grow in gardens. Chickens grow in eggs laid by the mother hen.
yes because the mothers adapts to other baby's as her own baby birds

It's nearly guaranteed that they will kill the ducks, especially baby ones. They are different animals completely. My hen hatched her own chick and the others killed it two days later... If they will kill their own, they will kill ducks, too.
chicks are baby hens hens are female chickens
No, the get along quite well with chickens. A male may "fall in love" with a chicken hen if he doesn't have a peahen mate. If the hen has chicks & tries to protect them from the curious peacock, the peacock will go after the hen & will fight with her.
Chickens hatch after being sat on by the mother hen for 21 days. They are kept warm underneath her and there they form into chickens. The mother hen turns them from side to side, twice a day, for 18 days. Then, in the 3 days that follow, the chickens will hatch. Eggs can only turn into chickens if they are fertilized (the hen being mated by a rooster). Alternately, the eggs can also go into an incubator as long as a person does the same things as the mother hen - turning them.
No, mother hens do not feed their chicks. The mother hen calls her chicks and encourages them to peck food up off the ground in the same way that she does.
They will if they can catch it. Chickens are omnivores and will eat meat when available. If the chicken is able to kill the mouse it will eat it.
Chickens don't get pregnant: they take 24 hours to produce an egg which leaves its body. When the hen decides it is time to be a mother hen, she goes "broody" and stays on that egg along with several more and all she can gather from other chickens. The hen sits on the eggs for 21 days and the eggs start to hatch. The mother hen then takes care of the chicks for about 3 months before starting to lay eggs again.
No. It is a chicken, a hen, a cockeral/rooster or two chickens.
hen gives us egg
